What is Binding?


Binding is the process of linking the transmitter and receiver together.  Another way to look at it is teaching the receiver which transmitter it should listen to.

With most Spektrum receivers a Bind Plug is inserted into the bind port then power is applied.  A rapid blinking light indicated the receiver is in bind mode.

Most of the Ultra Micro Bind-N-Fly products have Auto-Bind.  Simply powering them on before the transmitter will initiate bind mode.

Press and hold the bind switch or button while powering on the transmitter to enter bind mode.  The LED on the receiver will go out and relight without blinking indicating the connection is successful.

If the bind was not successful ensure the batteries are fully charged, try rebinding from a greater distance, or reorient the transmitter antenna.

Additionally ensure both the transmitter and receiver are compatible. For example, DSM2 receivers will not bind to transmitters only capable of DSMX/DSMR .

  1. The  DX7 Gen2 will not bind to some TM1000 Telemetry units.

 

Internal

The TM1000 Telemetry units with a beginning PID of HS will not bind to the current version of DX7 Gen2. The TM1000 Telemetry units with a beginning PID of HM will bind.

TM1000’s currently in stock are version HM

There will be a update released at some point to correct this issue. For now we can have customers send in their DX7 for updating.

 

 

  1. Also, currently any DX7 Gen2 will not bind in 11ms frame rate to either the DSM2 or DSMX receivers that are capable of operating in 11ms frame rates. They will bind in 22ms frame rates and function properly. This should also be corrected when the update is released.

Transmitter/Receiver Programming Cable: USB Interface (SPMA3065)

As of (late December 2016) receivers connected to a PC with SPMA3065 may require the receiver to be powered from a separate source such as a battery or BEC.

Earlier versions of this interface would provide USB power to the receiver.
